Mario Pace
Director – Internal Audit

Mario Pace has been with MCAST since September 2001. Mario started as Assistant Lecturer at the ICT Institute. He then went on to become the Deputy Director of the same Institute. He also served almost 3 years as the Institute’s Acting Director. During his time at the ICT Institute, Mario oversaw the introduction of the Level 6 courses and the growth in evening courses in ICT areas. In 2013 Mario was asked to take over the responsibility of the Data and Information Management Department, a new department which was to cover the area of both IT and Data Management. In this role, Mario was responsible for preparing MCAST for the introduction of GDPR and several major overhauls in MCAST’s IT infrastructure and setup. In 2019 Mario changed his role from Director
of the Data and Information Management Department to MCAST’s first Data Protection Officer. Mario is a qualified Accountant and Auditor and is the holder of a CPA warrant.  Before joining MCAST, he worked with a number of Audit firms in both accounts and audit departments. He also spent a number of years running his own IT business
