This programme of study provides ample opportunities to find employment at the end of the two-year course. The study-units are designed in a manner that provides a strong link between theoretical concepts and hands-on practice during internships. Lectures focus on guiding the undergraduates on how to make learning for young children stimulating and fun, in a safe and healthy environment. Upon completion of this programme, the undergraduates may proceed to the final year of the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) within the Faculty of Education, University of Malta, subject to fulfilling a number of requirements relating to proficiency in the Maltese and English languages .

Dan il-programm huwa wieħed mill-aktar korsijiet popolari f’dan l-Istitut. Huwa popolari ħafna minħabba li jipprovdi numru ta’ opportunitajiet biex wieħed isib impjieg fi tmiem il-programm ta’ sentejn. L-unitajiet ta’ studju huma mfassla b’tali mod li, matul l-internships, jipprovdu rabta qawwija bejn kunċetti teoretiċi u l-prattika. Il-lezzjonijiet jiggwidaw lill-istudenti dwar kif it-tagħlim jista’ jkun stimulanti u ta’ interess għat-tfal iż-żgħar, f’ambjent sikur u tajjeb għas-saħħa. Meta jtemmu dan il-programm, l-istudenti jistgħu jkomplu bl-istudji tagħhom fl-aħħar sena tal-Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) fil-Fakultà tal-Edukazzjoni, l-Università ta’ Malta, basta li jissodisfaw għadd ta’ rekwiżiti relatati mal-profiċjenza fil-lingwa Maltija u f’dik Ingliża.

2 A-Level passes and 2 I-Level passes
Compulsory A-Level or I-Level: Two subjects from Mathematics or English or Maltese
Applicants need to be in possession of a pass at SEC/O-Level in the subject that is not presented at A-level or I-level.

Other entry requirements: Prior to embarking on a Work Placement, learners need to:
• satisfy the requirements of the Protection of Minors Act (POMA);
• present a clean police conduct certificate;
• complete a Basic First Aid course;
• complete a Paediatric First Aid course.
